Description

GREAT STUFF PRO™ Gasket gives contractors a better way to improve air-sealing between a framing lumber and drywall – a common area for leaks, adding up to 40% of a home's energy loss. GREAT STUFF PRO™ Drywall Gasket is the first water-based foam in the GREAT STUFF PRO™ Insulating Foam Sealant family.

Features & Benefits

  • Flexible, Low-Pressure Polyurethane Foam: Expands just enough to create an effective gasket without warping framing or drywall.
  • Durable, Compressible Air Seal: Cures into a soft, flexible seal that accommodates joint movement over time—ideal for pre-drywall sealing.
  • Fast Tack & Cure Time: Tack-free in ~8 minutes, fully cured in ~1 hour, accelerating jobsite progress.
  • Precision Dispensing Gun: Designed specifically for Gasket Foam, ensuring controlled bead size, cleaner application, and minimal waste.
  • Moisture & Mold Resistant: Water-resistant and mold-resistant once cured—suitable for high-humidity environments.
  • Paintable and Trimmable: Once cured, foam can be trimmed or painted to match surrounding materials.
  • Energy Code Compliance: Helps meet IECC, ENERGY STAR®, and other air sealing standards by reducing air leakage.

Recommended Applications

  • Sealing between top and bottom wall plates and drywall
  • Air-sealing around rim joists and wall sheathing
  • Creating pre-drywall gaskets in framed construction
  • Sealing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical penetrations
  • Energy code compliance air sealing during rough-in stage

Common Substrates

  • Wood (dimensional lumber, OSB, plywood)
  • Drywall (gypsum board)
  • Concrete and masonry
  • Metal framing (galvanized, steel)
  • PVC and other rigid plastics
  • Foam board insulation

Note: Always test for adhesion on unusual substrates or in high-moisture environments.

Application Details

  • Surface Preparation
    • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oil, dust, or debris. Protect adjacent areas as needed.
  • Shake Can Thoroughly
    • Shake the can vigorously for 60 seconds before attaching to the dispensing gun.
  • Attach to Gasket Dispensing Gun
    • Screw the can onto the gun securely. Adjust flow control to achieve desired bead size.
  • Apply in Continuous Bead
    • Apply a uniform, continuous bead along framing surfaces to form the gasket. Maintain consistent speed and pressure.
  • Curing
    • Foam will be tack-free in about 8 minutes. Full cure typically occurs within 60 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
  • Post-Application
    • Once cured, foam may be trimmed, shaped, or painted. Clean dispensing gun with Great Stuff™ PRO Cleaner immediately after use.
  • Storage
    • Store upright in a cool, dry place. Do not expose to temperatures above 120°F or below 40°F.
