Description

This premium sealant kit brings together Sikaflex®-15 LM, a high-performance, low-modulus polyurethane sealant, with the AWF PRO 18:1 Caulk Gun, a contractor-grade applicator built for precision and power. Engineered for demanding façade, vertical joint, and restoration applications, this combination delivers exceptional flexibility, weather resistance, and application control. Sikaflex®-15 LM offers an unmatched movement capability of +100% / -50%, making it ideal for sealing dynamic joints in exterior wall systems, precast panels, window perimeters, and high-rise structures. The AWF PRO 18:1 gun ensures smooth dispensing of high-viscosity materials while minimizing hand fatigue and eliminating drips.

Features & Benefits

  • Extreme Flexibility: +100% / -50% movement capability (ASTM C719)
  • Low-Modulus Performance: Reduces stress on joint substrates
  • Non-Sag Formula: Ideal for vertical joints and façade applications
  • Durable & Elastic: Cures to a strong, flexible rubber with high tear resistance
  • Excellent Adhesion: Bonds to concrete, aluminum, glass, and more—often without primer
  • Weather & UV Resistant: Maintains integrity in extreme climates
  • Easy to Use: One-component, gun-grade, no mixing required
  • Paintable & Jet Fuel Resistant

Recommended Applications

Sikaflex® 15 LM is ideal for dynamic joints in vertical, exterior, or façade applications where high movement is expected:

  • Expansion and control joints
  • Precast concrete wall panels
  • Window and door perimeters
  • Flashing, reglets, and EIFS joints
  • Roofing detail applications
  • High-rise and curtain wall installations
  • Fire-rated joint systems (UL listed)

Common Substrates:

  • Concrete
  • Glass
  • Aluminum
  • EIFS
  • Wood
  • Stucco
  • Masonry (CMU, brick)
  • Precast panels

Application Details

Surface Preparation

  • Substrates must be clean, sound, dry, and free of dust, oil, and frost
  • Roughening surfaces enhances adhesion
  • Use backer rod or bond breaker tape to control sealant depth and prevent 3-point bonding
  • Priming is generally not required unless bonding to porous or specialty substrates like EIFS

Joint Design

  • Joint depth should be ¼" minimum and ½" maximum
  • Ideal width-to-depth ratio is 2:1
  • Sealant should be applied at the joint’s midpoint in its movement range

Application Conditions

  • Air/Substrate Temp: +40°F to +100°F
  • Tack-Free Time: 2–6 hours
  • Final Cure: 7–10 days
  • Paintable: Yes (test for compatibility)

Coverage (10.1 oz cartridge, based on ¼" bead)

  • ¼" x ¼" joint = 24.3 linear ft
  • ½" x ½" joint = 6.1 linear ft

Cleanup

  • Use xylene or similar solvent for uncured material
  • Cured sealant must be removed mechanically
