Description

AWF PRO Thickened Epoxy is a high-strength, two-part structural adhesive designed for demanding bonding, gap-filling, and sealing applications. Formulated with advanced thickening agents, this epoxy delivers exceptional holding power on vertical and overhead surfaces—without sagging or running. Its versatile formulation adheres to a wide range of materials including wood, metal, fiberglass, concrete, masonry, and composites, making it ideal for both professional construction and heavy-duty repair work.

With a generous 40-minute working time and a high compressive strength of 9,800 psi, AWF PRO Thickened Epoxy offers the perfect balance of workability and performance. Once cured, it forms a waterproof, durable bond that can be drilled, sanded, and painted—perfect for structural reinforcement, gap sealing, or precision bonding tasks in even the most challenging conditions. Packaged in a 450 mL dual-cartridge format, this epoxy gives you over twice the material compared to standard 10 oz cartridges and fits most 450 mL and 600 mL epoxy guns.

Features & Benefits

  • High Strength, Gap-Filling Adhesive: Ideal for structural bonding, sealing, and filleting—especially on vertical and overhead surfaces.
  • No Sagging or Running: Thickened formula stays exactly where applied, even on challenging orientations.
  • Extended Working Time: 40-minute open time at 72°F offers flexibility and precision during application.
  • Versatile Bonding: Forms strong, durable bonds with wood, fiberglass, metal, concrete, composites, masonry, and more.
  • Superior Coverage: Large 450 mL cartridge delivers over 2x more material than standard 10 oz cartridges.
  • 100% Waterproof Seal: Once cured, the epoxy is watertight and highly resistant to stress, impact, and wear.
  • Post-Cure Workability: Cured epoxy can be drilled, sanded, and painted for a clean, professional finish.
  • Wide Compatibility: Fits most 450 mL and 600 mL dual-cartridge epoxy applicators.

Technical Data

Property Value
Application Temperature 50°F to 90°F
Working Time (in static mixer) 40 minutes (@ 72°F)
Cure to Solid 5 to 6 hours (@ 72°F)
Clamp Time 24 hours
Cure to Working Strength 2 to 5 days (@ 72°F)
Full Cure ~5–7 days depending on temp/mass

Note: Cure rate varies with ambient temperature, substrate temperature, and applied volume. Warmer conditions accelerate cure time.

Physical Properties

Property Value
Specific Gravity 1.09 (ASTM D 792)
Compressive Strength 9,800 psi (ASTM D 695)

Recommended Applications

  • Bonding and laminating wood, fiberglass, metal, and composites
  • Filling gaps, cracks, and surface irregularities in masonry and concrete
  • Creating fillets and reinforcing corners or joints
  • Sealing and bonding vertical or overhead joints where non-sag performance is critical
  • Adhesion on damp or difficult-to-bond woods like teak or oily hardwoods

Application Details

Surface Preparation

  • Clean and dry surfaces thoroughly. Remove oil, grease, dust, or loose debris. Roughen smooth surfaces for best adhesion.

Cartridge Setup

  • Insert 450 mL cartridge into a compatible dual-cartridge applicator. Attach static mixer nozzle and dispense until a uniform color is achieved.

Application

  • Apply epoxy directly to the substrate. For vertical or overhead use, apply in sections to maintain control. Fill gaps, cracks, or bonding seams evenly.

Working Time

  • You have approx. 40 minutes at 72°F to work with the material before it begins to set.

Clamping and Cure

  • Clamp or brace as needed within the first 24 hours. Cures to solid in 5–6 hours, and reaches full strength in 2–5 days depending on conditions.

Post-Cure Options

  • After curing, the epoxy can be drilled, sanded, and painted for finishing or structural integration.
