Description

DuPont™ LiquidArmor™ LT Flashing and Sealant is a durable, flexible, single-component silicone liquid flashing formulated for cold-weather commercial applications. It provides advanced moisture and air sealing protection for window and door rough openings, penetrations, and insulation board joints.

Designed as a low-temperature alternative to DuPont™ LiquidArmor™ QS, this product can be applied in conditions as cold as –20 °F (–29 °C). Once cured, LiquidArmor™ LT forms a seamless, resilient barrier that integrates with DuPont™ Commercial Wall Systems and insulation boards to create a continuous air and moisture seal.

The material can be dispensed from a 20 oz sausage gun. It eliminates the need for cutting, folding, or using reinforcing mesh—saving installation time while delivering reliable performance in challenging weather conditions.

Features & Benefits

  • Cold-Weather Performance
    • Can be applied in temperatures from –20 °F (–29 °C) to 120 °F (49 °C).
    • Rain resistant within 15–30 minutes of application.
    • Freeze–thaw and heat-aging tolerant.
  • Ease of Use
    • One-step application—no mesh, primer, or tape required.
    • Trowel-applied directly from sausage or pail.
    • Long tooling time (approx. 30 minutes) for easier detailing.
    • Adheres to a wide variety of substrates without primer.
  • Durable & Flexible
    • High abrasion resistance during installation.
    • Spans gaps up to ¼ in (6 mm) and provides seamless, fully adhered flashing that moves with the structure.
  • Jobsite Efficiency
    • Time-saving replacement for peel-and-stick flashing tapes.
    • Forms part of a continuous air and moisture barrier when used with DuPont™ Commercial Wall Systems.
    • Exposed weather resistance up to 6 months before cladding installation.

Application Details

Surface Preparation:

    • Apply only to clean, dry surfaces free of frost, standing water, oil, dust, and debris.
    • Fill gaps greater than ¼ in (6 mm) with Great Stuff Pro™ Gaps & Cracks, Great Stuff Pro™ Window & Door, or foam backer rod before applying.
    • Suitable for non-moving joints (movement <15%). For larger joint movement, use traditional expansion joint methods.

Application Method:

      • Apply from a sausage gun or directly from the pail using a trowel.
      • Spread evenly to a wet thickness of 30 ±5 mils using a wet mil gauge.
      • Typical tooling time: 30 minutes (longer in colder temperatures).
      • Rain resistant within 15–30 minutes; fully cured in 30–45 minutes (longer in low temps).
      • Inspect after curing for missed areas or thin spots; reapply as needed.
      • Coverage (Theoretical Yield at 30 mils)

Application Width 20 oz Sausage (Linear Feet)

Application Width Yield Per 20oz Sausage Pack (Linear Feet)
1 Inch 105 ft
2 Inches 53 ft
3 Inches 35 ft
4 Inches 26 ft
6 Inches 18 ft

Common Substrates

        • Foam insulation boards (e.g., DuPont™ Thermax™ and STYROFOAM™)
        • Fiberglass-faced gypsum board
        • Concrete masonry units (CMU)
        • Steel studs and metals
        • Oriented strand board (OSB) and plywood
        • Brick ties, veneer anchors, fasteners, and washers

Storage & Shelf Life

        • Store unopened sausages or pails in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight.
        • Shelf life: Up to 12 months unopened.
        • Opened sausages may remain in the gun overnight; trim cured material at nozzle tip before reuse.

Suggested Use

Ideal for commercial wall systems, cold-weather construction, air barrier detailing, and flashing insulation joints where peel-and-stick flashing is impractical or less durable.
