DuPont™ Weathermate™ Construction Tape from DuPont is a durable sealing tape with excellent adhesion properties to help protect homes and building against moisture and air intrusion. Weathermate™ Construction Tape is pliable – ensuring a tight seal, even at extremely low temperatures – and its oriented polypropylene backing is formulated with a UV-treated film to help resist degradation from exposure to sunlight.

Weathermate™ Construction Tape is the recommended tape for sealing joints and seams of Weathermate™ housewraps. It provides a tight bond to housewrap surfaces to seal seams and enhance resistance to moisture and air infiltration.

  • Service Temperature Range: -40°F to 220°F (-40°C to 104°C)
  • Rain Resistance: After ~5 hours
  • Adhesion Cure: Up to 72 hours
  • Standard Roll Size: 1-7/8 in x 165 ft

Application Details

  • Surface Prep: Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of dust, grease, or debris
  • Installation Tips: Apply firm pressure for optimal adhesion
  • Taping horizontal seams just before siding installation is recommended
  • Fold tape end after use to prevent contamination before reuse
  • System Integration: Commonly used with housewrap, flashing systems, sill pans, and foam sealants for full weather barrier performance
