Recommended uses include sidewalks, balconies, pavements, terraces, warehouses, factories, and civil structures.

Surfaces must be clean, sound, dry, and free from oil, grease, curing compounds, and contaminants prior to application. For best adhesion, mechanically roughened surfaces are recommended.

Sikaflex® 1c SL is designed for horizontal applications and should be poured directly into properly prepared joints. The self-leveling consistency allows the sealant to flow and settle naturally for smooth joint filling.

Recommended application temperatures range from 40°F to 100°F. For optimal performance, joints should be sealed when they are at the midpoint of anticipated expansion and contraction movement.

Use closed-cell backer rod or bond breaker tape to control sealant depth and prevent three-sided adhesion. Recommended joint design follows a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio, with sealant depth between 1/4" and 1/2".

For damp concrete applications, all standing water must be removed and the substrate allowed to dry for a minimum of 60 minutes prior to application. For immersion service applications, priming is required.
