Description

Vulkem® 801 is a heavy-duty, liquid-applied polyurethane waterproofing coating designed for roofs, gutters, flashing, concrete, and other exposed surfaces. It cures into a flexible, waterproof membrane that resists UV rays, standing water, weather, tearing, and cracking for long-lasting protection.

  • Easy to Apply: Can be applied by roller or spray and features a high-solids formula for efficient coverage.
  • Repairable: Damaged areas can be repaired or recoated when properly prepared.

Recommended Applications

  • Roof decks – temporary repair or build-up layer
  • Gutters and rainwater channels
  • Cooling water tanks (with approval from Tremco Tech Service)
  • Inverted roof waterproofing to parapet transitions
  • Horizontal and vertical substrates needing waterproof protection

Application Details

  • Surface Prep: Ensure all substrates are clean and repaired. Concrete must be free of oils and dust. Metal surfaces should be cleaned and primed.
  • Primers: Use TREMprime® Non-Porous Primer for metal. For concrete, consult Tremco for compatible primer options.
  • Application Method:
    • Roller: Use 3/8” solvent-resistant medium nap roller.
    • Spray: Refer to Vulkem 801 Spray Guide for detailed instructions.
  • Coverage Rates:
    • Smooth Flat Surfaces: 35 ft²/gal (45 wet mils)
    • Smooth Sloped Surfaces: 50 ft²/gal (30 wet mils)
    • Concrete: 25 ft²/gal (60 wet mils)
  • Limitations: Do not apply to damp or contaminated substrates. Ensure proper ventilation. Substrate temperature should be ≥5°F above the dew point.
