Description

The AWF PRO 20 Gallon Battery Acid Spill Kit is engineered to safely neutralize and clean up sulfuric acid and other hazardous battery-related spills. This kit features Acidsafe Neutralizer, a color-changing powder that neutralizes acids while visually indicating when a safe pH has been reached. Once neutralized, yellow hazmat sorbents absorb the remaining liquid for safe disposal.

Packaged in a durable, UN-rated and DOT-approved 20-gallon polyethylene drum, this kit is ideal for forklift battery stations, charging areas, industrial shops, and anywhere lead-acid batteries are handled or stored. With 20.2 gallons of absorption capacity, this kit delivers fast, safe, and compliant spill response in a compact, portable format.

Features & Benefits

  • Neutralizes Battery Acid on Contact: Includes Acidsafe Neutralizer to neutralize acid spills and indicate pH neutrality with a visible color change.
  • Visual pH Confirmation: Gold/yellow shows acid presence; purple confirms neutralization — no guesswork involved.
  • Absorbs Aggressive & Non-Aggressive Fluids: Yellow hazmat pads, socks, and pillows absorb acids, solvents, oils, coolants, and more.
  • UN-Rated, DOT-Approved Drum: 20-gallon high-density polyethylene screw-top drum (UN Rating 1H2/X57/S) from Eagle Manufacturing for safe, compliant storage.
  • PPE & Disposal Tools Included: Chemical gloves, safety goggles, disposal bags, and zip ties ensure safe handling from start to finish.
  • High Absorption with Portability: Absorbs up to 20.2 gallons while weighing just 33 lbs — easy to transport and deploy.
  • Customizable Kit Options Available: Need something more specialized? We’ll build a kit to match your exact spill risks.

How to Use

  1. Safety First: Put on included chemical gloves and safety goggles before handling the spill.
  2. Apply Acidsafe Neutralizer: Sprinkle Acidsafe onto the spill, working from the outside inward.
    • Gold = strong acid
    • Yellow = mild acid
    • Purple = safe pH
  3. Wait for foaming and bubbling to stop, then confirm the entire mixture is uniformly purple.
  4. Cool & Contain: Allow the mixture to cool. Use pads and pillows to absorb any remaining liquid. Place all material into hazardous disposal bags.
  5. Containment: Deploy socks to prevent further spreading or protect drains, work areas, or soil.
